Because no, not everyone against prostitution has a problem with it for moral reasons and wants to 'slut shame.'
I oppose it because I've read a lot about women in particular who become prostitutes and they are quite often abused and are more prone to get into drugs.
However, you are entitled to do what you want with your body.
It's just that if we legalize it I'm afraid more people will partake in it, resulting in more abused and suffering people.
Tough call. For now I'd say leave it to the states to make the choice.
That's the case for many people but for some like myself I simply worry about those who partake in it. It's dangerous and if we had a lot more prostitutes there's a pretty good chance more STD's would spread.
If it wasn't illegal, then people wouldn't have to do it in secret, and there would be less chance of "dodgy" people spreading STD's. It's going to happen either way, so why not legalise it and make it safer?
It might be degrading, but if that's what a woman wants to do with her body, then that's her choice I get. There are other methods to get money if she cares about her dignity enough.
*and by makng it safer I mean 'respectful' (if that can be used here) businesses could be run for it. I don't think people would need to have any qualifications to have sex with people

Oh yeah. Government will not legalize it because religion, immorality and bible.
It's not so easy to go one way or another.
But yeah, I think it's not so easy.
People should be free to do as they like, but, I still don't know if I support encouraging the behavior.
Indeed, it's not so easy at all.
